Eye Infections and injuries
Eye infections usually affect contanct lens wearers and children, but not always. Being seen by an eye care specialist is the best way to identify and treat eye infections. We have the equipment and knowlege to do so. Never self diagnose this may lead to serious pain and loss of vision.
Eye injuries are frightening from being hit in the eye to having a foreign body in the eye. Dr. Spitler has encountered hundreds of these patients and feels comfortable in treating most eye injuries. If there is a case for an emergency we provide this service. Please call our office at (586) 532-1600 during office hours or our emergency number (586) 883-5088 after hours or on weekends. Our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. State of the art microscopes allow us to exam the front surface of the eye facial areas around they eye for injury. After asssesing the extent of the injury a treatment plan will be formulated and explained to you. Treatment may include medications and supportive care. If needed we will always offer a second opinion from another eye care specialist.
